Africa is especially vulnerable to food insecurity given the region’s high dependence on rain-fed agriculture and the frequency of extreme weather events, high rates of poverty, widespread conflict, and lack of sufficient infrastructure. Approaches to better understand the complex drivers in food insecure nations and to increase food security on the continent are top priority.
