Water and Sanitation

FIRD promotes access to water to rural communities that are underserved in northern Uganda. Communities are provided with training in water and sanitation skills.

Households are trained of water disposal methods. We work very closely with department of water at the district level. In the last 4 years FIRD has contributed to the protection of 56% of springs in Kwera sub-county, Dokolo District. Installed shallow wells and it is planning to start sinking boreholes and rehabilitated the defunct ones.  Read more
